Step 1 Greeting and   Lead-in

Make ss talk about   Wenchuan Earthquake.

Make some sentences with   simple past tense.

Step 2 Presentation

1.Show a picture of   the World Trade Centre and ask ss to talk about the event of September 11.

2.Arose the new words   while talking

Master the new words   by repeating and translating them.

Learn the new words   and expressions from the passage.

Step3 Before reading

1. Show   the title and picture on the PPT

2.Ask the ss to   predict the general idea of the passage by the title and the picture.(some   bad and unexpected events)

Get the main idea of   the passage by reading the title and looking at the picture before reading.

1. Have   students read the first paragraph to find the details and finish task 1 and   task 2.
